Art For Obama
YES WE DID!!!

I'm a proud product of Chicago’s poetry scene from the turn of the century where spoken word and live art went hand and hand. I grew to love the raw delivery and free expression that poetry allowed. I was fascinated by the way a few words could be artistically conjoined to create vivid stories and images in your mind. As a visual artist and student of culture, I made it my mission to study the live arts and do the same with the strokes of my brush. The product came to be Visual Poetry. My journey as an artist has been a rollercoaster of life lessons filled with highs and lows, but I made a conscious decision early on in my career when meeting with Triumph and Disaster to treat those two impostors just the same. My favorite poem is “If” by Rudyard Kipling. The line that strikes me best deals with forcing your heart and nerve and sinew to serve their term long after they are gone when there’s nothing left but the will that tells them to hold on. I live my life by those choice words and feel we have to do same to elect Barack Obama as the next President of the United States. I've been painting for 17 years now and during that time I've changed paths, changed mediums, and changed artistic styles, but the one thing that has stayed consistent through out the years was CHANGE. I paint for the love and I feel Barack has the same passion for what he does. Having witnessed him rise from Illinois State Senator to Presidential Hopeful, I can positively say, “Barack can talk with crowds and keep his virtue or walk with Kings-- nor lose the common touch.” I’ve always believed in hard work, but more and more I have been inspired by him to create art for social change. Over the last 18 months I’ve been tirelessly working hand and hand with the Young and Powerful for Obama to inspire folks to become the change that you can believe in. I’ve helped raise funds with the auctioning of my works and live paintings for the campaign from Madison to New York.
